    This is a switched 24 vac power supply, i.e. not a transformer. Have used it as a substitute for a “C” wire in a Wi-Fi thermostat. Advantage is the small size and cool operating temperature. Since the waveform is not full wave sinusoidal, the typical voltmeter will not record voltage accurately but it does work with a Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat and associated heating relay.

    Low power draw on idle. Measured at 0.15w, which is terrific compared the standard transformer that draws 3w.
